Two books on a side table, with a plant, a cappuccino, and a pot of teaWhat I Like in a Book

I read a lot of Young Adult fiction, and my taste tends to skew toward anything fantasy with strange magic, a writing style that leaves quotes rattling around my head weeks after I finish, and clever heroines. I particularly love fantasies with politically savvy princesses or other women in power (think The Winner’s Curse trilogy). Beyond that, I also occasionally read Jane Austen or Shakespeare for fun, and I’m trying to expand my tastes into poetry, modern and classic. I have both Emily Dickinson and Amanda Lovelace on my shelves, and love them both equally.
